The Arraigo Social File — what 8,500 case files from 2024 reveal

A statistical and qualitative review of 8,500 Arraigo Social files filed with Spanish Oficinas de Extranjería in 2024, assembled with cooperating lawyers across six Comunidades Autónomas.

Public teaser

The RD 1155/2024 Arraigo Social reform was marketed as a simplification. Our review of 8,500 files filed in the first eight months of 2024 shows otherwise — the acceptance rate dropped in three regions, the median processing time rose in all six, and a specific documentary requirement (the social-roots informe) is now being refused by two prefectural practices for reasons that do not appear in the regulation. The full report breaks down the data by region, by Oficina, and by lawyer.

The rest is behind a reader or publisher license, below.
