Hired a ConsultantPakistan

Rashid Ahmed scored seven Chancenkarte points and his consultant made sure he claimed every one

The German points system is unforgiving of applicants who undersell their own qualifications.

Rashid had completed his Pakistani Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 2019 and had been working as a backend developer at a Lahore-based fintech for four years when he contacted a consultant from our German directory. His initial Chancenkarte self-assessment, which he had done alone, scored him five points — enough to apply but not enough to feel confident. His consultant’s first move was to re-walk the self-assessment line by line and ask whether he had been accurately claiming every category.

The German Chancenkarte points system awards points across six categories: education, work experience, language skills, age, prior Germany connection, and partner qualifications. Rashid had, out of modesty, claimed only a B1 in German when he had passed a B2 Goethe exam the previous year — he had assumed the B1 was more defensible. His consultant produced the B2 certificate and claimed the full point. Rashid had also claimed only three years of experience in a shortage occupation when his employer had hired him into the role on the first day of his final university year, giving him effectively four and a half years. His consultant produced the HR letter and claimed the second point. The age point and the partner-qualifications point were already correctly claimed.

The revised self-assessment scored Rashid seven points — comfortably above the six-point threshold. His consultant filed the Chancenkarte application at the German consulate in Islamabad with the full supporting dossier assembled in the order the embassy prefers. The visa was issued in seven weeks.

Rashid landed in Munich on a Saturday morning and started his first interview the following Tuesday. His third interview, with a Munich-based mobility-tech startup, resulted in an offer within a week. He signed the employment contract, filed his residence-permit application at the Munich KVR, and started work three weeks later. His total time from first consultation to Munich payroll was seven months.

What his consultant gave him was not a secret or a shortcut. It was the discipline to claim what he was entitled to claim. The Chancenkarte points system is designed to reward applicants who know their own file. Rashid, like many engineers we work with, had been quietly underselling himself. His consultant’s role was to make him stop.

“My consultant navigated the German Chancenkarte points system for me. 7 points, visa approved, now a developer in Munich.”
— Rashid Ahmed, Pakistan

Outcome

Chancenkarte visa, Munich developer role, 7 months.
